Having followed you since you were pregnant with Archer, hearing about your dad devastated me. And reading the words "Where's Wendy" has left me sobbing. All of it is beautiful, but that love.....wow. I am so glad your parents are home and I send all of you so much love.

When my dad collapsed unexpectedly ten years ago last month he never woke up fully again. Though he did hold on long enough for everyone to get a chance to get there and say goodbye, for which I am incredibly grateful. And I'll admit, I didn't miss him for a long, LONG time. Until I did, but not as my dad, really. More as a person. I find myself deeply curious about who he was on the inside, which was mostly not ever on view. I don't think I'll ever stop missing him that way.

All this to say, losing a parent is no joke. I'm glad it wasn't your turn. Holding you and all your sweet family in the Light (as we Quakers say).

So incredible the he was amongst those people whose calling is to save lives… even at wedding receptions. A CPR class is a great idea, along with a first aid class.

My mom made me take both before babysitting and I had to use the ‘Heimlich for kids’ when one toddler choked. Hugs for your family, especially Wendy along with your Pops 💛💛💛

Uff da, my heart just stopped when you first posted about this. I live just south of Grand Junction (about 90 miles due south, so it's the closest major airport to us as well), and living in rural Colorado is mostly awesome but sometimes terrifying when you think about how far from big help you can be. I'm so grateful that they were able to immediately take care of him and keep his oxygen going while they waited for life flight. Phew. All the hugs and love to your family. Glad you had a good experience in GJ!

Your graceful, inclusive, exquisitely gentle prelude has really touched my heart. In the middle of so much, you open your arms to others without the lucky outcome.

It’s clear that that beautiful couple gave you a phenomenal foundation that enables you to soar your whole life.

Loved the picture of Fable with the new guitar. All of them really.

And thanks for dispelling the whitewashed depiction of CPR usually seen on media. It IS a violent procedure, done correctly.

I know I need a brush up, after certification 14 years ago.

Hope there’s a dearth of drama for all of you for a long long time.
