Today is the braid’s one year anniversary and I just wanted to thank each and every one of you for supporting my stack these last twelve months. A couple months ago I cut my hair for the first time in many years. My attachment to my hair is something I can’t quite explain but for the entirety of my adult life save for one nervous breakdown at the dinner table in 2016 (I chopped it and then bleached it blonde) it has looked exactly the same.
As in… I haven’t so much as trimmed it. It stops growing at a certain point and by that I mean it becomes brittle and breaks at my bra-line.
A poetic place to stop growing, the heart.
